Baby Sign Language
Parenting is hard y'all! Do you ever find yourself playing the guessing game when it comes to figuring out what your little one wants or needs? There is a simple solution and it is Baby Sign Language!
Why? When? How?
Why?
When your child is an infant you have about a one in three chance of figuring out what they need. Sleep. Milk. Diaper change. As they grow and develop those choices grow as fast as they do. You can teach your child a language that you can understand NOW and the guessing and frustration, on both sides, is lessened, if not alleviated. You ask why, I ask Why Not?!
When?
You can begin using sign language at any point in your child's development and continue using it as long as it is beneficial. If you start using it within your household from infancy, it will become a natural part of their understanding and they will start using it as soon as they are able. Babies are naturally curious and begin mimicking others sometime around 6 months (every child develops differently so it could be sooner but don't be concerned if it's later.) Even if your child is starting to talk, there are words they haven't gotten to, or words you simply can't understand yet. You can subsidize their language where needed. You can even communicate with your older completely verbal child in times where you can't speak such as when you are in a meeting while working remotely.
How?
How is the most involved part of this practice but is still unbelievably easy. It's simply a matter of embracing the idea that this can and will work, committing to actually using it, and following through with the consistency, persistence, and repetition needed for success! You can absolutely do this on your own AND we offer online and in-person workshops to get you started, coaching to work with you and your family on a personal plan for success, and Solid Foundations Sessions where we work directly with your child to have this working for you as quickly as possible.
Testimonial
"...Sarah didn't only teach my daughter sign language, she taught me (as a new mom), how to communicate with my daughter effectively and lovingly. I truly believe that my experience as a mom has been monumentally made easier and more joyful by having Sarah involved. You will be very happy you used her services. I promise"
